Leaving Denver, we traveled south to New Mexico. Upon entering this beautiful state, we took a break from interstate driving to have lunch in a national park. After lunch, we pushed on to Albuquerque. An interesting city, I must say - very southwestern. In Albuquerque, we took advantage of the local laudrymat to clean our clothes and mingle with the locals. While dining outside the laudrymat, one nice fellow even let us "watch" his alcohol as he played hide and seek with the cops who were cruising back and forth. (ok, so I think we were in the ghettos of Albuquerque.)

During R2K, storms were few and far between.
Approaching Albuquerque was one of those rare occasions.
